Letters to the Editor: December 2006/January 2007

To the Editor,

Congratulations to you and your student crew for a very successful  Launch party and even more importantly for producing a quality  newspaper. I was pleased that I could be part of the celebration.

Best wishes for the future.

To the Editor,

As I’m sure the congratulations are flowing in, I will keep mine short, but I wanted to compliment you all on a hugely successful launching. Though I don’t know much about putting on events like these, I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the very positive, elegant, and convivial atmosphere at the launch.

If this evening and all the hard work you have poured into this project are any indication of the Vienna Review’s further accomplishments, we can expect many more lavish celebrations of success to come! Congratulations to you all,

To the Editor,

I would just like to congratulate you on your splendid Vienna Review Re-Launch Party on Wednesday the 15th November – Oh what a night…

Half the international community of Vienna seemed to be there, I met so many new people, interesting people, people I had something in common with, and yes, we did indeed have reason to celebrate.

I have actually been waiting for an English language news journal to be started up in Vienna for a while, ever since Austria Today has withdrawn to the internet – which isn’t quite the same as having a physical paper to hold on to, hide behind on the underground, to add your own notes and exclamation marks to and read at leisure whenever you feel like it without the need for a PC and internet access.

The two issues that I’ve seen so far have been topical and thought provoking, and I certainly look forward to finding the next one in my mailbox.

The food at the party was delicious, by the way, and I was very impressed with the fantastic jazz pianist  [Bela Fischer] that you had and who was at least co-responsible for the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

So thanks again for inviting me, and I wish The Vienna Review all the success in the world.

Julia Novak
