New English-language Radio for Vienna

Since the demise of Blue Danube Radio (part of ORF) in 2000, the international community was left without English-language radio in Vienna. As of 7 Oct., Vienna International Radio returns to the airwaves in a four-hour slot each Sunday between 10:00 and 14:00, sharing the Superfly 98.3 frequency.

Vienna-based and UK-born radio legend Paul Hollingdale, who founded Blue Danube Radio in 1979, will fill his new programme with a mix of news, guest interviews, features, phone-ins and a soulful selection of music from host station Superfly’s playlist. News broadcasts will be provided by NPR of Washington D.C. and the BBC World Service of London.
