Running since 2008, Schloss Laudon’s annual chamber music festival is dedicated particularly to the performance of works by composers persecuted by the Nazi regime. This year, the theme is “Music of the Displaced” (Vertriebene Musik), with works by Erwin Schulhoff, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Mieczyslaw Weinberg, Franz Mittler, and Paul Hindemith.

There will also be a short historical review of Korngold’s time in Vienna, as well as a reading of some of Franz Mittler’s famous spoonerisms by Christa and Kurt Schwertsik. The festival incorporates usual chamber music literature into the programme as well — this year, Dvořák, Brahms, Borodin, and Schubert. The aron quartett and the Trio van Beethoven perform.

21-24 Aug., nightly performances at 19:30
26 Aug., 11:00
