Filmmaker Ottinger Discusses the Circus

On the occasion of their exhibition “Parallelwelt Zirkus” (Parallel World Circus), Kunsthalle Wien presents photography and films Prater and Superiba – Pride by German filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger at Filmcasino.
A panel discussion follows the screening: Ulrike Ottinger will talk with Verena
Conrad (curator of Kunsthalle Wien), Matthias Christen (professor of media studies at the University of Bayreuth), and Kurt Mayer (film producer, “Prater”). Among other subjects, they will discuss the circus as a metaphor for a utopian perspective and the nature of the Prater as an “extraterritorial space”.
