Supporting a good cause while enjoying musical theatre are two tempting reasons to go watch New Angels. The Story of the Black Cat on 6 and 7 April in MuTh, the new concert hall of the Vienna Choir Boys.

The charity proceeds from this exclusive staging – months before the show’s world premier this autumn – go to supporting the education of children with Migrant backgrounds (Volksschule Habergasse) and helping children, young people and women in disadvantaged regions of Central and Eastern Europe (H. Stepic CEE Charity).

The production is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting novella “The Black Cat”, focusing on the memories of a man on death row, accused of murdering his wife.

The multi-disciplinary project features singing, dancing and acting with music by Johann Sebastian Bach and the English songwriter David Sylvian. It has been created in collaboration of the Austrian conductor Martin Haselböck, the multimedia artist Virgil Widrich and the Luxembourg-based director Frank Hoffmann.

From each charity ticket sold for the Vienna event, €40 will be donated to the above mentioned charity projects. In November, “New Angels” will have its official premier in Luxembourg.
